Anyone who knows me knows I love a Horror film; the good, the bad and the ugly!
I love cheesy horror, scary horror, physiological horror, and anything in-between
(except torture porn, get away from me right now!).

Whilst I never get to go to the cinema and usually actually watch films on demand a year later 😦 (#mumlife). I still get SUPER excited about seeing them regardless.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this?

In no particular order, here are my most anticipated horror films of 2020.

Full disclosure, I don’t watch trailers as they always give WAY too much away

Brahms: The Boy II

There’s not much that can be said about this film without the worry of spoilers for The Boy. It’s on Netflix, it is thoroughly entertaining, and not at all what you think it will be. I am excited to see part 2 (although concerned it has cast Katie Holmes)!

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

I love this franchise, even the terrible ones! I really like James Wan’s stuff and am looking forward to delving back into the Warren’s story.

A Quiet Place: Part II

I am not sure where this story is going to go, but A Quiet Place was fantastic. John Krasinski really blew me away with A Quiet Place, alongside wife Emily Blunt and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Gretel & Hansel

Moving on from the sequels, Gretel & Hansel has seriously intrigued me. The original Brothers Grimm story is obviously quite creepy, and I like the idea of mixing up the ages of the characters – Gretel will be much older than Hansel, and is in more of a motherly role.

Antlers

I have very little idea as to what this is about, but I am hyped. The couple of images I have seen look good, and it is produced by Guillermo del Toro, so colour me excited. All I know is that a teacher and her brother get involved in a child’s life after he seems ‘off’.

The New Mutants

This could go either way, the X-Men franchise is definitely hit or miss in its films, and this will be it’s first attempt at a horror. However, it has a solid cast and the potential to be something really good.

The Turning

Based on The Turning of the Screw, The Turning boasts an awesome cast and has a solid story to build upon. A nanny is hired to watch two creepy kids, in a creepy house…. Need you hear any more?

The Invisible Man

Another film based on a book, The Invisible Man was originally part of the now abandoned dark universe. A women’s husband dies in mysterious circumstances, and she is convinced there is someone to blame.

Fantasy Island

I know very little about this film, but look at these posters! A tropical island offers people a fantasy vacation, but things go super wrong.

The Lodge

The final film, and another I know very little about. A lady finds herself snowed into an isolated cabin with her fiancé’s  children who she doesn’t particularly get along with.
