Today I thought I would share my ‘natural’ makeup routine, this used to be my daily makeup, but now I don’t often have time to do makeup (darn baby :p ).
I love to have my day makeup be as natural looking as possible, whilst letting my lip colour do the talking. I find that keeping the rest subtle, I can be free to go as crazy as I want with my lip choice!

Step 1
I always start with a BB cream. I am a huge fan of BB creams as they usually serve a few purposes – a touch of foundation, a moisturiser and an SPF. As I don’t leave the house without some sort of sun protection, its great to cut out an additional step and have it included in my base product!
I use the complexion sponges from Real Techniques (here) to apply my base. The current BB Cream I am using is nutraeffects skin perfecting BB cream by Avon True (here) in light, it is great at smoothing out your skin and adds a touch of radiance.
I then use a cream concealer on over any blemishes I have – I tend to get a lot of spots since being pregnant – and under my eyes to brighten them up. I use the Nude Matte Cream Concealer by mark. at Avon (here) in fair. It’s one of the best I have tried as it doesn’t feel heavy, and it brightens up under my eyes so well.

Step 2
I then use a pressed powder over my face, I always use powder as I hate my skin feeling ‘wet’ and like to set it slightly with an all over powder. The current one I am loving is another mark. product (can you tell I used to be a rep? XD ). The nude matte pressed powder (here) in fair, which I find quite breathable and it has the added bonus of SPF protection.
I use the Base Brush Set by Real Techniques (similar) to apply the power, as well as my blusher and highlighter.

Step 3
My next step is to pop on some blusher to my cheeks, followed by some highlighter to my cheekbones, bridge of nose, brow bone and a touch on my cupids bow. I use the Sculpting Highlighter Palette by Rimmel Kate (here) in 002 Coral Glow.
To apply the blusher I use a Face Brush (similar) and a Real Techniques brush to apply highlighter.

Step 4
I then fill in my brows and to give them more shape. I am currently growing my brows out, and so they can look quite unruly sometimes, I find filling them in helps them look less patchy whilst they grow. I use the Perfect Brow Sculpting Pencil by mark. (here) in soft brown. Its slanted tip is perfect for following your brow shape and it doesn’t smudge at all!
I then follow with a coat of the Big & False mascara by mark. (here) in black, which despite its name gives my eyelashes a nice separation and I personally find them to look more natural than false.

Step 5
I finish with my lip choice for that day, I am a huge lover of any shade of red, but have been using a plum shade as my go-to recently. I love how the Perfectly Matte Lipstick by Avon True Colour (here – colour no longer available) in tempting mauve looks on me and it lasts for so long.

Step 6
I complete my makeup with a spritz of MagiX Prep & Set Spray by mark. (here).

What do you use to create your daily makeup look?
Do you have any staples you can’t live without?
